Gelish "Cinderella" Spring 2015 review and swatches

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you've probably seen me showing a few sneak peeks of the new Gelish colors I recently received. These 9 magic and fantastical colors are from the Cinderella 2015 collection to help celebrate Walt Disney Pictures' release of the new live-action Cinderella. The collection showcases a unique palette inspired by the movie, with 6 whimsical creme to sparkly shades and 3 glitter toppers from the Gelish TRENDS line.

I have to admit that I squealed with joy when I pulled these bottles out of the boxes. They were all so pretty and most were so unique to any of the other Gelish MINI bottles I have in my collection. I just love reading the names of them, and these ones did not disappoint- each one totally suits its individual color. Plus there are 9 colors in this gorgeous collection! 6 is a pretty average number for a seasonal line, but the 3 TRENDS toppers are a great bonus to add on with. These glitters can go over just about any color and I love that about them.

The consistency of these were a little bit streaky at first so I needed 3 coats to get full, even coverage, with the exception of the TRENDS ones that only needed 2 (unless you want ultra glitter, but that's up to you). Unfortunately my nails are not in the best of shape right now as I've been neglecting them while being sick for a week. I'm dealing with a few broken nails so they are a bit on the short side, which is annoying when I'm trying to photograph them. Grow, baby, grow! Also, when I was swatching these colors on myself it happened to be late at night, and not in the best of lighting. I feel like the colors shown on myself in the pictures below tend to be a bit "warmer" than they actually are, due to the fact that it was late and I was using artificial light to see (I usually take my pictures during the daytime with natural light). The swatches above, on the plastic sticks, are taken in natural light show more of the "true" colors. The difference is only really noticeable in 2 or 3 of them, which I'll point out for you.

Party at the Palace is an iridescent teal with a beautiful, shimmery finish. This color starts out very light but increases in opacity as you add a few more coats and reminds me of Cinderella's ball gown.

My Carriage Awaits is described as a coral creme, but seems to me like more of a smooth, pumpkin-y color with just the tiniest hint of a subtle shimmer. (Get it? Pumpkin...Cinderella's carriage...you know). This one was hard to capture on myself in the horrible 11pm lighting.

This is more like the real color.

Watch Your Step, Sister! is a dark pink creme with a bit of a rosy touch. This is one of my favorites by far and I think it's perfect for spring. I imagine one of the horrible stepsisters would wear this color to match one of her pink dresses. I'm totally going to  rock this color a lot this spring.

If the Slipper Fits is a light, silvery blue glitter. This one looked beautiful on the plastic stick but looked awful on me as photographed below. I'm pretty sure it's the lighting here because it looks more green to me. It really is a beautiful color though!

See? This is what it really looks like. Promise. This one reminds me of Elsa.

Ella of a Girl is a light to medium pink creme that is a lot of fun and so perfect for the spring. Think of the perfect shade of bubblegum pink- this is it!

Live Like There's No Midnight is a dark blue shimmer that is still playfully bright and bold. I love the name of this one and I think I'll be wearing it year round.

Stepsisters Rule! is a dark red magenta glitter TRENDS topper. It's base color is pretty translucent with a mix of small, medium, and large sized flakes of holographic glitter. This one goes beautifully over a lot of colors, not just the Cinderella ones either. I wish I'd had this in time for Valentine's Day.

A Moment of Magic is a golden glitter TRENDS topper. This one has a yellow base to it which ended up going on very dark for me on my nails (maybe I was a little heavy handed with my layers).

See? It looked much better on the stick and is actually more translucent.

I'll Make it Fit is a really fun, multicolor glitter TRENDS topper with a good mix of small, medium, and large chunks of different colored glitter flakes. This one is a fun one that pairs up nicely.

After I swatched out all of the colors I decided to play around and pair up some of these beautiful shades with the fun and chunky TRENDS toppers. Here are just a few of my favorite color combinations I was able to come up with by mixing the Cinderella line within itself.
