Things I Don't Love

Good Thursday morning, lovelies.
Are you having a good week so far?

It's time to vent my frustrations in a linky called Things I Don't Love.

Here's how it works:
Write up your own Things I {don't} Love post and link it up here. You can write about anything and everything. It can be about one thing or ten things, and you can choose to include pictures or whatever you'd like. It's completely up to you! Just tell me what you're not loving right now. Please make sure to grab a button or link back to my blog in some way, then hop around the link ups and check out some other blogs. Linky parties are a great way to meet new people and find some fun new blogs to follow, so have fun and be social. I always read and try to comment on every single link up!

My neighbor almost burning down the neighborhood. Yeah, this guy. I noticed earlier in the day while checking the mail and riding bikes with Lily that the dude was not watching his burn pile in the backyard. Hours later we had firetrucks rolling down the street. I hope they told him tending to his burn pile was probably more important than detailing his low-rider truck.

Kids who are left to "fend for themselves" at a young age. Maybe I'm just the mean, paranoid, clingy mom who won't let her kids out of her sight, but hey, I'm OK with that. I've noticed every time we go to the park or the splash pad that there are more and more kids with no parents or adults. Really? An 8 year old can go the park himself? I don't care if you only live 3 blocks away & it's in a residential area. What if he got hurt? Kidnapped? Lost? Hit by a car? What if he was hungry? Did he bring water to drink & stay hydrated? Did anyone put sunscreen on him before he left the house? What if other kids were mean to him or picked on him? These are all things that fly through my head while I'm sitting there cursing the parents in my head.

Making Rafflecopter widgets. Planning giveaways is a lot of work, and adding all of the links to the giveaway widget is probably what I dread most.

Now it's your turn.

Link up your own Things I Don't Love post below.
Make sure to follow me on Twitter too so we can stay connected!

  2. I am perhaps that clingy mom too, and I get insanely, irrationally angry at the lack of parental involvement at the park/pool, etc. So much so that I dread going those places with my own kids because half the time I'm too anxious and angry with other parents to enjoy myself. It's stupid, I know, but I can't help it and I worry. I end up parenting the whole playground and reminding kids to take turns and not hit when that should be their parents job but their parents are at home, on their cell playing angry birds, what have you. It's not cool!! And yes, I know most parents would say things like, "oh, kids will be kids," and that you have to give them independence here and there, which I agree with, but you do that WHILE YOU'RE STILL NEARBY in case they need a little help going in the right direction! You don't just toss them out there and expect them to figure it out! So, I totally get it. Involved parents, UNITE! :)

  3. I am the clingy mom too. My son is 4 and is NEVER out of my sight. It blows my mind how parents can let their little kids just go do their own thing. Every day I see these 2 little kids in my neighborhood. They are about 5&7, riding their bikes down the middle of the road with no parent around. I've seen them almost get hit numerous times. It's ridiculous!

  4. Yep- I see little kids like 5 years old out riding around all by themselves. I don't even let mine go to the mailbox alone haha

  5. I'm the mom usually bossing ALL of the kids around in a public place like that because none of the other parents will get off their butts and do anything. It's infuriating!
