The title pretty much says it all.
We were all sick 2 weeks ago. I had this horrible cough and congestion that just wouldn't go away...I mean, it was bad. I was taking cough suppressants and Mucinex around the clock and I still couldn't get it under control. Finally the last few days I started to get really bad chest pains along with the cough, and a few times I couldn't catch my breath. This panicked me and I started crying and my husband had no idea what was going on or what to do. Then yesterday my arm started throbbing, I kept getting dizzy, and my hands started to tingle & go kind of numb. It was time to go to the hospital, so I called my husband at work and he rushed home to take me to the ER.
3 hours, a round of chest x-rays, breathing treatments, and 3 prescriptions later I get sent home with a diagnosis of pneumonia.
Oh, and the best part of the whole thing?
They made me wear a mask at the hospital. You know, the ones everyone was wearing when that swine flu or bird flu or whatever was going around?
Except I didn't look as cute as this gal does.
On top of that, I hadn't taken a shower for the day at that point, so I was completely haggard looking. Here I am, sitting in the hospital waiting room with a mask on while everyone tried to stay as far away from me as possible. It was mortifying.
Thankfully my son thought it was comical enough to take a picture of me, and I'm nice enough to show you because I thought it was pretty funny too.
So here I am in all of my sickly & infected glory.
Dirty hair pulled back into a messy bun? Check.
No makeup? Check.
Mortifying mask? Check.
Comfortable hoodie. Check.
Old, faded, stretched out, paint splattered, bleach splotched yoga pants you bought 5 years ago? Check.
And are they tucked in to your rainboots? Check!
Hot, right?
So yeah, pneumonia isn't fun. I should be resting now so I'll get back to that.
